Media Bad talk or positive talking daycare providers

Have you every wondered why is it that the Media never has anything nice to say about daycare providers? Or the long hours we have to work taking care of children? We take care of children from all walks of life. Think of it... There's the child whom the parents say is a cuddler, which we all know the parents hold he/she so they don't cry so much, and expect us to do the same. Then there are the attention getters, the manipulators. Okay, I could go on and on but I won't because you know what I am talking about. Now do you suppose that the Media could do what we do for 50 + hours a week or even 3 hrs. Do you think they could last a day? But then I think that all the stuff that the Media prints up is all negative and only a small percentage is positive, so we Must be doing a greater service if we aren't in the media as much as others. So I say to all Providers "well done" keep that ray of sunshine ever so bright in your hearts.

You're so right, and I can't figure out why the media would spin us this way. All the child care providers I've met are some of the nicest, most caring and loving people on the PLANET. But when you mention you work in child care, you get a distinct vibe that it's not a respected profession. I can't understand it. Very frustrating to say the least!
